Last night, I attended the Cyg-nature Veuve Clicquot Party at Cygnus 27 at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel downtown Grand Rapids... whoa, when I say that quickly, it sounds like I went to some magical Narnia land that you can only get to by taking the secret tower elevators into the sky (the 27th floor to be exact).  In a sense, that's exactly what I did.

Going to Cygnus 27 was a reminder of 2 things... 1) Cygunus 27, in my opinion, provides one of the best atmospheres in this city.  2) Grand Rapids is a pretty awesome city.  Allow me to elaborate...

Last night was essentially a dream late-night happy hour.  Surrounded by an unbelieveable view of the city, I sipped on a glass of smooth Veuve (as I like to call it).  Champagne, in general, is my absolute favorite beverage, so given the opportunity to relax with a few glasses of a top shelf bubbly, I was on Cloud 9... literally it seemed.

As the sun set, the party moved to the dance floor.  DJ Slim Tim carried us through our 'happy hour' perfectly, beginning with a soothing medley and kicking it up a notch with a wicked remix of Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe."  Yeah, you know the tune... now add a hard bass beat and lil dub step... YUP, awesome right?!

Which leads me to why this city is awesome... everyone was on the dance floor!  Cygnus 27 was filled with a fantastic, fun group of people, a group of people who came out on a 'school' night in their swanky Summer getups and let loose till the wee hours of the morning. 

I didn't want to leave!  I was supposed to be in bed by 9:30 (don't judge... I wake up at 4am), and I didn't leave the party until 11:30.  I couldn't... I was living my dream happy hour!  Fabulous drinks, fabulous music, and FAB-U-LOUS individuals! 

That magical Narnia land in the sky that serves champagne and rocks out to dubstep "Call Me Maybe" exists... right here... in the awesome city of G-RAP!
