Autism Risk and Safety Management Workshop and Training

To identify issues of risk to persons with autism and to provide strategies to help manage and minimize these risks, Autism Support of Kent County and the Kent County Sheriff's Department and holding a pair of Autism Risk and Safety Management Workshop and Training sessions.

For parents, educators, human service and autism professionals -- May 15th, 6:30pm til 8:30pm in the Coldwater Room at KISD.

For law enforcement and first responders -- May 16th, 8:00am til Noon at the Kent County Sheriff's Department.

Author and advocate Dennis Debbaudt's Autism Risk and Safety conference sessions identify issues of risk and provide strategies to help manage autism risks at home, school, and in the community. Dennis's presentation identifies the best tools and options for parents, care providers, educators and persons with autism when developing partnerships with law enforcement, first response, and criminal justice agencies.

The parent of a young man with autism, Dennis is known for his knowledge, dedication, insight and passion. Dennis’ sessions are lively, informative, humorous, thought provoking and practical. Dennis is one of most sought after speakers in the autism community. Everyone will walk away with ideas and plans designed to lower risk and increase safety for every child or adult living in the spectrum.

There is no charge for these workshops.
