The mother of Trayvon Martin issued a letter in response to the riots in Ferguson, MO., saying she wishes she had "automatic comfort" for families involved.

Protests in Ferguson, MO., turned violent in the wake of the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown at the hands of local police.

Sybrina Fulton, the mother of Trayvon Martin, published a letter in Time magazine sharing her thoughts on the aftermath of the shooting.

"I wish I had a word of automatic comfort but I don’t," she writes. "I wish I could say that it will be alright on a certain or specific day but I can’t."

Martin, 17, was shot fatally following an altercation with neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman in 2012.
